Camp fire Friday: For the recons, how do you respond to the "dead religion" statement?

I've never personally come across this statement, that said, I'd simply respond with the information that much of Roman Catholicism is in fact Pagan in form, and content, with a veneer of God/Jesus overlaid. So... is Catholicism dead? ;)
