Were the 9/11 terrorists from Afghanistan or Saudi Arabia? If they were from Arabia, what did they want from?

Most were Saudis, but it wasn't directly contributed to a particular nation. The oil, and their willingness to not attack Israel are why we don't interfere with the sh1thole system they operate under.
