What are some ways to get a guy to like you w/o being desperate?!?

I like this really down 2 earth guy but he kinda looks right through me. im not really used to that happening... hes really nice btw. I dnt want to do anything to dramatic like dressing like a skank. plus he not really into tht so it wont help. Help!!!!
