Any Thoughts on Extracellular Matrix?

Where I attend graduate school, we have a regenerative medicine institute. I will tell you that this is being done, however, most progress is being made at the moment by growing hollow/cavernous organs outside the body on biopolymer scaffolds. Significant progress is also being made in wound healing, seeding wounds with stem cells. Regeneration of entire tissues on the body is almost unheard of so far.
