Army enlisted to Officer questions?

Has anyone gone enlisted in the Army and then went OCS shortly after getting to their first duty station? If so, how long did it take for the commander to recommend you for OCS? I made the mistake of listening to my recruiter by enlisting first and then applying for OCS after I complete BCT and AIT. I heard it was a lot harder than simply going straight for OCS. I'll be leaving for BCT next month and wanted to get some answers on this matter. Thank you!
